The Thai Boxing, a bit story…

Thai boxing, or muay-thai, is a combat sport that was created at the base for the Thai military.
It is classified in the West as one of the most complete fist boxes.

The Thai boxing has its origins in muay boran (traditional boxing) and krabi krabi (practice with weapons).
It is considered as national sport in Thailand. Many “camp” training clubs extend throughout Thailand. They welcome young people from a young age.

There are two famous Muay Thai stadiums around the world. Because of this, they are considered as the references of this discipline. They are located in Bangkok: these are the stadiums of Lumpinee and Rajadamnoen.

Running a Thai Boxing Fight?

The fights take place in five rounds of three minutes.
They are preceded by a ritual dance called ram-muay during which the nak-muay (boxers) wear the mongkon (cloth around the head).
Being one of the most complete boxes, it is allowed to use his fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet (depending on the country).
